By plane, the city and university are easily accessible by public transport from Oulu Airport (OUL).
Accommodation
There is no official conference hotel or agreements with hotels. The sessions and laboratory visit are held at the university in the northern part of the city. The university can be reached easily with several bus lines from the city center. The dinner is held at Ravintola Rauhala, which is quite close to the city center and reachable by foot.
A non-exhaustive list of available hotels:
- Lapland Hotel Oulu – very close (around two hundred meters) to the place the conference dinner is held. About 50 meters to the nearest bus stop. Please not that although the name implies Lapland, Oulu is actually not part of Lapland.
- Radisson Blu – located in the “Torinranta” (marketplace). Few hundred meters to bus stop, roughly 800 m to the dinner venue.
- Scandic Oulu City – located in the city center, fairly close to bus stops. One kilometer walk to the dinner venue.
- Original Sokos Hotel Arina – located at the central square (Rotuaari). Nearest bus stops are around 200 m away, dinner is 700 m away.
